Do you have any unwanted old coins lurking in a drawer? If you do then the charity Tools For Self Reliance Cymru would love you to bring them to an event where we have a stall, or to our Crickhowell workshop! Everything from half-pences, Francs or even the odd Euro would be gratefully received. Why? Because TFSR Cymru have been asked by the Hakizetu Young Women and Girls’ Rights Organisation in Tanzania to support them in their work of helping dispossessed young women to start new lives.
TFSR Cymru have already provided the Hakizetu refuge with some sewing machines and other equipment and have now been asked to provide some more. They will enable the young women there to further support themselves through craft and trade. To help with the equipment and shipping costs, TFSR Cymru are hoping to raise £500 through donations of foreign and out-of-circulation coins and notes, which can be sold on to coin dealers.
You can find TFSR Cymru and their big collecting pot on their stand at any of the events listed in the “where to find us” section on this website, or at the Crickhowell workshop. To find out more about the Hakizetu refuge follow the link
